HTC will upgrade its 7-inch Flyer tablet to Google's Honeycomb operating system today.

Announcing the news on its Facebook page, HTC said that the upgrade will come to Europe first, before coming to Flyer owners in the US.

"Ready for some 'sweet' news? The GSM version of the HTC Flyer tablet, available in Europe, is beginning to receive updates to Honeycomb beginning today!" said HTC's Facebook post.

"Honeycomb brings a ton of improvements to Android on tablets, including the latest version of HTC Sense for Tablet with enhanced Internet browsing, Mail, Calendar and more all optimized for the 7-inch screen."

HTC went on to add that the Wi-Fi version of the Flyer will soon receive its Honeycomb update. The Flyer was released with the Android 2.2  (Froyo) OS when it launched in May of last year.
