Amazon slams iPad Mini display and price in new ad

by Doug Drinkwater

October 29 2012

It didn’t take Amazon long to big up the Kindle Fire over the iPad Mini, with Jeff Bezos' firm now publically criticizing Apple’s latest creation on Amazon.com.

The home page ad, entitled ‘Much More for Much Less’, compares the Kindle Fire HD’s over the iPad Mini and promotes the Fire’s ‘stunning’ HD display with 216 pixels per inch, the ability to watch HD videos, the dual stereo-speakers and the ‘ultra-fast’ MIMO WiFi.

Directly comparing these features to the iPad Mini, Amazon then slams Apple’s latest tablet for its ‘standard definition’ display, the supposed inability to play HD videos and the tablet's mono speaker.

And perhaps more to the point, the ad then simply refers to the fact that you will pay $199 for the Kindle Fire HD and $329 for the entry level iPad Mini.
