There’s no question more electronic gifts are going to find their way under the tree this holiday season, and one tablet in particular seems to be a popular choice.
The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7, promoted aggressively by the online seller across media, including national TV ads, is the most gifted item at the site, according to a report by iTrustNews.com, a media and consumer reviews site.
The report credits the price and HD, high resolution of the 7-inch Kindle Fire for its popularity. Both the Kindle Fire HD 7 and Google’s Nexus 7 are priced at $199, less than Apple’s slightly bigger iPad mini that sells for $329.
Amazon also offers a bigger, 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD for $299 and a more basic 7-inch tablet model, the Kindle Fire for $159.
iTrustnews.com said it has “followed the sales trend” for Amazon’s tablet line, but did not detail how it arrived at the conclusion that the Kindle Fire HD was the most gifted item.
