HP’s $169 Slate 7 has been hit by a delay. The 7-inch Android tablet is now expected to be released in June.

HP quietly revealed the news on the product page for the Slate 7, which now reads that the tablet is “available June 2013”. The tablet was previously scheduled to launch in April, when it was announced at the end of February.

The Slate 7 marks HP's surprising attempt to shake-up the low-end Android market dominated by Amazon's Kindle Fire.

The Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) model features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, a dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 8GB of memory, 1GB of RAM, and comes with dual-facing cameras. It also boasts Beats audio and can wirelessly print over WiFi to HP printers.
