7-inch and 8-inch tablets may be all the rage right now but both Apple and Samsung are hedging their bets that bigger will be better in the months to come.
Shortly after The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is testing a 12.9-inch iPad, another source was speculating that Samsung’s next tablet might come with an eye-catching 12.2-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution display.
Citing a product listing on shipping website Zaumba, SamMobile reports that the firm’s much-rumored SM-P900 tablet will have the same resolution screen as Google’s Nexus 10 (which was also manufactured by Samsung), will boast an ARM 11 processor and speculates that the model could debut at the IFA exhibition in Germany this September.
This isn’t the first time there has been talk of a larger Samsung tablet. Back at the beginning of last month, Korean news website ETNews – which also first reported on Apple’s 12.9-inch ‘iPad Maxi’ tablet – claimed that the screen would be an IGZO (Indium-Gallium Zinc Oxide) panel display from Sharp and added that the model would come with an S-Pen stylus.
