LG looks set to re-enter the tablet market

LG’s return to the tablet market is inching ever closer with one new report claiming that the Korean giant could unleash a new Android tablet as early as next month.

Citing unnamed sources, Greek tech site Techblog reports that the tablet will be called the G Pad and will feature an 8.3-inch 1920 x 1080 display, a quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

The website adds that the bezels will be super slim, allowing users to put the device in their pocket, and claims that the tablet will be made of aluminum.

LG is expected to announce the tablet at the IFA tech exhibition in Berlin, Germany next month, where TabTimes will be reporting live.

LG exec Steve Koh yesterday confirmed that the electronics manufacturer plans to re-enter the tablet market, just one year after the firm first got out of that line of business.
