Google releases Nexus 7 32GB with LTE Android tablet for $349

Following up the successful debut of its new Nexus 7 this summer, Google followed up today with the LTE version available now on the Google Play store.

The Nexus 7 LTE Android tablet comes with 32GB and a T-Mobile SIM (and 2GB of data service for one month) for $349. It's also compatible with other carriers with LTE service including Verizon, and GSM / HSPA / LTE on AT&T and T-Mobile.

    This is a very interesting product and marketing strategy. It appears that Google is staying out of the phablet fracas. By introducing a tablet that appears to have all the ingredients to act as a phone, or at least a Skype platform.

    So, my next question is..... tablet or phablet? And, if not a phablet, why is it being marketed by all the big cellphone providers? And.....if it can not make a cell-phone compatible phone call.....why buy it?
