Samsung’s new Galaxy Note won’t be flying off the shelves this holiday season

Samsung may have only unveiled the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition at IFA last week, but already reports suggest that the Android tablet may not get much traction on the marketplace.

Citing sources in the supply chain, Digitimes reports that that initial sales of the tablet are “likely to be small” and says that the figure could be as low as 400,000 to 600,000, with consumers instead turning to smaller 7-inch and 8-inch tablets, which of course Samsung offers as well.

TabTimes got the chance to go hands-on with the 10-inch tablet at IFA, and it certainly boasts some impressive specs.  The display is better-than-full-HD at 2560 x 1600 resolution, while the slate is powered by an eight-core processor and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The tablet also comes with 3GB of RAM and dual-facing cameras (8MP on the rear, 2MP snapper on the front).

The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition is rumored to launch "as soon as September 25", although Samsung officials told TabTimes at IFA that it would debut in October.
