Google is today rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 tablets, as well as the original Nexus 10, although some other Nexus owners will be forced to wait a little longer.

The latest iteration of Android has to date only been available on the new Nexus 5 but, as of November 13, can now be downloaded on the Nexus 7 Wi-Fi versions and Nexus 10 tablet.

The bad news is that Nexus 4 owners and those with a cellular Nexus 7 tablet will have to wait a little longer, with the update not currently available for both devices.

Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat on the new Nexus 5 smartphone at the end of last month, and recent reports claim that the operating system update – which takes its name from the popular candy bar maker – could soon feature on the second-generation Nexus 10.
