What differentiates a tablet and a phablet? That could soon be a plausible question, especially considering now that HP is apparently building a product that could easily sit in both categories.
Specifications for an unannounced HP device – dubbed the Slate 6 Voice Tab – appeared on the GFXBench website on Monday and these claimed that the model in question features a 1280 x 720 resolution display and the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
The device – which has a name that would hint at a tablet at phone calling capabilities – is also said to have a Marvell PX1088 ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with support for WiFi, Bluetooth, FM radio and HSPA+ and LTE network connections.
Should this model come to fruition, it would mark the first time phablets – or large-size phones depending on your preference – would compete directly against tablets.
At the end of last month, LCD panel makers reported increased orders for 5-inch and 6-inch displays and suggested in turn that this was pushing vendors to look at introducing larger-size tablets.Source article
