Polaroid, the pioneering instant camera company, will be looking to reinvent or at least expand consumer's perception of the company at CES next week with a line of Polaroid Q Series Android tablets as well as a 50-inch “Smart” TV.
The Q Series will feature 7-, 8- and 10.1-inch models running the latest Android 4.4 “KitKat” operating system and quad-core processors.
Prices start as low as $129 for the Q7 and range up to $179 for the Q10. However, CES will only be a preview, the company says the tablets aren’t slated to be available until this Spring.
Polaroid is clearly looking to leverage its well-known brand with a new consumer offering.
“Our Q Series provides consumers with super-fast quad core processing speeds allowing for faster performance and less wait times when watching movies, or playing games,” said Scott W. Hardy, Polaroid’s President and CEO, in a release.
Polaroid says the Q Series will be “perfect for media and sharing on-the-go” as each tablet features an “extended battery life.” But detailed specs have not yet been released.
