Samsung has reportedly agreed to scale back some of the Android customizations that it showed off at CES earlier this month.

Instead, according to a report in re/code Samsung will feature Google’s media offerings in a central place on its devices, as part of “broad agreements” between the two tech giants.

Discussions between the two firms is said to have come after Samsung showed off the Galaxy NotePRO and Galaxy TabPRO tablets at CES, loaded with Magazine UX, a tile-based homescreen replacement.

Google execs were said to be disappointed by how radically Samsung departed from Google’s vision of Android with Magazine UX.
