It looks like Google might finally be ready to offer an 8-inch version of its Android-based Nexus tablet line.

The long-rumored Nexus 8 will ship in April, according to Digitimes, the Taiwan-based site that covers the tech supply chain to glean insight as to what products vendors have in the pipeline.

Interestingly, the report claims the Nexus 8 will replace the Nexus 7 as a higher value offering that will help the search giant distinguish the tablet from the raft of low-cost 7-inch models.
