New 8-inch Android Iconia Tab announced by Acer before Computex

Acer unveiled the Iconia Tab 8 tablet in Taipei, just a few days before the opening of the Computex tech show there.

One month after having announced the Iconia Tab 7 and the Iconia One 7, Acer follows up with the upcoming launch of the Iconia Tab 8.

Intended for consumers, the Iconia Tab 8 will be distributed in China and other select markets. No word yet on any US distribution.

Here are the specs:

  • 8 inch IPS screen, 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution
  • Intel Atom quad-core Z3745 "Bay Trail" processor
  • runs Android 4.4 (Kit Kat)
  • memory unknown, microSD card slot
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, stereo speakers
  • 0.8 lb (360 gr)
  • 7.5 hour battery life (according to Acer)

Price is still unknown.
