Apple is be about to “go large” with the iPad, according to a surprising new report.
Coming hot on the heels of rumors on Apple’s plans to launch two new iPad minis and introduce the fifth-generation iPad, it has been suggested that the Cupertino firm’s next move will be to launch a much bigger model that will compete with Ultrabooks and smaller notebooks.
Citing company “insiders”, Korean-language website ETNews claims that Apple is talking to component suppliers in Korea about equipping a future version of the iPad with a staggering 12.9-inch display.
The website also adds that the device will be called the 'iPad maxi', will boast a better battery life than competing Ultrabooks and notebooks, and will come to market in early 2014.
This is by far the most eye-opening rumor on Apple’s iPad in recent times and it comes from a source which, while relatively well-regarded in its home country, isn’t overly successful when predicting the next moves by computing giants like Apple and Samsung.
