Samsung rumored to be working on massive tablet

by TabTimes Staff

June 10 2013

So much for the rise of smaller 7-inch and 8-inch tablets – a new rumor suggests that Samsung will launch a massive 12.2-inch slate at some point in the future.

Following on from surprising reports of Apple building a 12.9-inch 'iPad Maxi', Samsung also looks to be considering a new tablet with a bigger screen.

Korean news website ET News claims that Samsung is gearing up to launch a tablet with a 12.2-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution IGZO (Indium-Gallium Zinc Oxide) panel display from Sharp, and claims that the model will come with an S-Pen stylus.

The source, which also broke the recent iPad rumor, didn’t have any more spec or availability details to hand, but did say that Samsung is hoping to sell more than 12 million of these “smartpads” each quarter.
