Apple looks set to deliver the next iPad mini later this year, although there are question marks on if it will have a Retina Display

Forgot those earlier reports of the Retina Display iPad mini being delayed until 2014 – new information suggests that the tablet might just launch next quarter.

In something of a U-turn, tech website Digitimes reports that LG Display is preparing to ship 2-3 million 7.85-inch Retina Display panels a month in preparation for the “expected October release date”.

The website, which has a mixed record when reporting iPad rumors, revealed earlier this week that Apple was on track to deliver a thinner and slimmer iPad mini in Q3 before launching the Retina Display model at some point in 2014.

Why would anyone want a Surface RT with a gutted version of Windows for $350 when that same amount will buy a touch screen fully Windows 8 11" laptop from makers like Asus? THAT is Microsoft's problem. But it won't be mine.
