Want a bigger iPad? New reports claim 13-inch tablet is on its way

Apple looks likely to go bigger with future iPad releases
Apple looks likely to go bigger with future iPad releases

Those rumors of a mammoth iPad don’t seem to be going away; in fact new reports claim Quanta Computer is already manufacturing the device.

Chinese-language website United Daily News writes that Quanta Computer has received orders from Apple to make a large iPad. Quanta has typically concentrated on manufacturing notebooks, but has worked with Apple in the past, specifically on the new MacBook Air range and the video-enabled iPod in 2006.

The website calls the iPad a 12-inch device, which would certainly concur with earlier reports, including one from The Wall Street Journal, that the “iPad Maxi” has a 12.9-inch display.

Apple’s arch rival Samsung is also said to be making a 12-inch tablet and could launch it as early as next month, according to other reports.
