The new design style and shifting parallax effect of iOS 7 has impressed many people so far, but there are those who say that using the new operating system makes them feel sick and dizzy.
Numerous commentators have taken to Apple’s forum boards over the last week to relay how the new parallax and zoom effects on iOS 7 are making them feel unwell.
One user wrote that “the zoom animations are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache”, while another compared the feeling to car sickness. Others have complained of illness, eye pain and dizziness. One user said he felt so unwell that he had to take the day off work.
“It’s exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car,” said Apple forum user Ensorceled.
"I had severe vertigo the minute I started using my iPad with iOS 7," added Apple forum user glassrabit. "[I] lost the rest of the day to it."
Users have apparently contacted Apple’s support line in a bid to find a solution, only for advisors at the Cupertino firm to say that there is no way to fully disable the effects. Apple is yet to comment publicly on the matter.
