Apple hasn’t yet released its second-generation iPad mini and fifth-generation iPad and yet one analyst is already betting that the former will be the big winner during holiday season sales.

Speaking ahead of Apple’s launch event for the two tablets on October 22, RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani claimed that the new iPad mini 2 will outsell the latest iPad by nearly two to one this holiday season, with the tablets accounting for 65% and 35% of Apple's tablet sales respectively.

The researcher expects the new iPad mini to feature a Retina Display, and added that the iPad 5 is likely to arrive with a thinner bezel, an updated camera with an 8MP sensor and the same fingerprint ID button as already on the iPhone 5S.

This news comes just a day after Chinese sources uncovered a purported image of the iPad 5, which appears to show the inclusion of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
