The Apple rumor mill is up and running again, this time with speculation that the company intends to launch two large iPhones with curved displays for next year.

Citing “sources familiar with the plans”, Bloomberg reports that the phones will have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays – which would be significantly bigger than the 4-inch display that currently features on both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

Sources said that the glass “curves downward at the edges” and added that Apple is also working on pressure-sensitive display sensors for new iPhones later on in 2014. These sensors will apparently be able to distinguish heavy or light touch control.

Samsung has leapt ahead with curved displays in recent times. The Korean firm announced the curved Galaxy Round phone in October, and company executives have since hinted that they aim to build devices with fully-foldable displays by 2016.
