by TabTimes Staff

November 18 2013

Apple has bought PrimeSense, an Israeli-based firm which develops chips that can detect 3D facial and body movements, according to new reports.

Citing unnamed sources for the information, local financial newspaper the Callcalist reports that the two companies have agreed a fee of $345 million and claims that the deal is due to be completed within the next two weeks.

All Things D however reports that the deal is 'not yet done' and says that it is near to completion.

PrimeSense develops sensors which are capable of detecting bodily movements and its technology has already been used in numerous market-leading devices, including Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect games console.
