Nokia joins Microsoft in poking fun at the iPad

In a new ad for its Lumia 2520 tablet, Nokia has not-so subtly dissed the iPad by mocking the tablet’s battery life and its lack of an integrated keyboard.

Following in the footsteps of partner Microsoft, Nokia has aired a campaign which focuses as much on its own Windows RT tablet as it does on the market-leading iPad.

The one-minute ad doesn’t mention the iPad by name but mocks the iOS tablet by showing a user struggling to use the device without a keyboard and also contending with a supposedly weak battery life. Indeed, the narrator at one stage claims that the lack of an integrated keyboard makes him “about as productive as a cat wearing mittens”.

The user then comes across a friend with Nokia’s Lumia 2520 and, after seeing the tablet’s Power Keyboard and fast-charging battery, asks “did I buy the wrong tablet?”
