Maybe you don’t often dangle your iPad by the front cover, but if you do you’ll notice it’s not that hard for it to disengage from the magnetic clip and fall.
Enter Irual’s polycarbonate Mesh Shell Case Smart Cover ($25) that secures Apple’s smart cover to the device and provides additional protection to the backside of the iPad in case of random bumps or short drops. Users can easily slide the iPad out of the cover barely adds any weight or thickness to the iPad.
Exhibiting in the crowded iLounge section of iPad and iPhone peripherals at CES this week, Irual, owned by DAQ in Japan, says that aside from the basic magnetic connection, it's the only company with a patented design for securing the front cover to iPad
The cover is available for the iPad Air and mini with Retina display in Japan. The company said it's for sale on Amazon in the U.S., but at least by a recent check, it doesn't appear to be available among the products on iRual’s page there.
