The Turkish government has confirmed President Abdullah Gül will meet with Apple CEO Tim Cook today

The official reason for the trip and meeting is a celebration of the first retail Apple Store opening in Turkey, but Cook is believed to have a bigger agenda.

Apple reportedly won the bidding for a $4 billion deal  that promises to bring millions of iPads to Turkey's schools. But whether Turkey has officially signed off on the deal or other details need to be sorted out (thus the visit) is unclear.
