Perking up what’s been a slow summer for new tablet product announcements, LG Electronics (LG) today announced the global launch of its LG G Pad 10.1, the largest tablet in the G Pad Android tablet series.
Like other G Pad devices, the G Pad 10.1 includes QPair 2.0 designed to provide an easy connection between Android-powered tablets and smartphones via Bluetooth. With QPair 2.0, users can receive notifications of calls and messages on a smartphone and reply or answer the call directly from the G Pad.
“Tablets are increasingly being used as companion devices, which is why we made connecting the LG G Pad 10.1 to other devices so easy and convenient and why LG G Pad 10.1 offers the best core technologies of our G series smartphones,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, in a release.
Several other features of the LG G Pad 10.1 worth noting include:
￭ Touch & Shoot: Tapping anywhere on the display will focus and activate the shutter in a single step to save time when a split second can be the difference of getting the shot you want.
￭ Gesture Shot for Selfies: Simply clenching your free hand into a fist within the shot frame will automatically begin a three-second countdown before snapping the picture.
￭ Smart Keyboard: The LG’s software is designed to reduce input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively “knowing” what word the user intended to type.
￭ Dual Window: Splits the tablet screen and runs two applications at the same time letting you multitask and drag and drop content from one window to the other.
The LG G Pad 10.1 will be released first in the United States followed by other markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America later in the month when pricing will also be revealed.
