Is Microsoft working on Office for the iPad?
The Daily reports that Microsoft is planning to introduce a basic version of its Office suite to the iPad next year.
The iPad edition is expected to be a stripped-down version of the full-fat desktop solution, and should allow Apple tablet owners to create and edit Word and Excel documents.
Sources say that Office for the iPad will sell for around $10, roughly the same price Apple charges for its Pages, Numbers and Keynote products.
Microsoft’s Office software suite is second only to Windows as one of the company’s biggest sellers. According to Business Insider, the suite will be worth more than $15 billion in revenue in 2011.
