Microsoft’s annual company meeting took place in Seattle this week and revealed that all full-time Microsoft employees will be getting a free Surface tablet, Windows Phone 8 device and a Windows 8 PC.

Workers can to choose between a desktop, Ultrabook or laptop as their office-bound PC, and will be able to use their Windows 8 Phone and Surface RT tablet at work or at home, according to tech website Geekwire, which broke the news.

Although this meeting was not open to the public, some workers in attendance announced their happiness at the news via social networking sites. One even went so far as to compare Steve Ballmer to chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has handed out free mobile devices to its employees, with the software firm rolling out free Windows 7 Phone devices to employees in late 2010.
