Lenovo prepping hybrid 11.6-inch Windows 8 tablet for early 2013 launch

The ThinkPad Helix has a Full HD 11.6-inch display
Lenovo is betting big on Windows 8 with the ThinkPad 2, Yoga, Twist and Lynx tablets, and now looks set to launch another new hybrid model in early 2013 too.

FCC filings for the firm’s latest Windows 8 tablet, the ThinkPad Helix, were made public recently and highlight that the model has an 11.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) dockable display and that it comes with LTE and WiFi connectivity.

The tablet also comes with an array of Intel Ivy Bridge processor options and is rumored to have a 10 hour battery life, which would be a pleasant surprise given the supposed battery problems Microsoft has had with its own Intel-powered Windows 8 tablet, the Surface Pro.

Lenovo has not disclosed when this model will come to market, although the timing of this news may indicate that the tablet could demo at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month.
