Lenovo has confirmed that the hybrid 11.6-inch ThinkPad Helix tablet will launch sometime next month.
Lenovo revealed the news on its Twitter account, but detailed that the vague launch date is only applicable to the US market. Overseas buyers have been advised to "inquire elsewhere depending on where you live".
It is worth noting that this availability could be subject to change, judging by Lenovo’s recent shipping date estimates.
The ThinkPad maker announced the 11.6-inch ThinkPad Helix at International CES at the turn of the year, an event which saw company officials promote the device as a “high performance Ultrabook with a detachable Windows 8 tablet”.
The ThinkPad Helix is expected to start at $1,499 when it ships and boasts an 11.6-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display.
It can be fitted with an Intel Ivy Bridge processor, up to 256GB of SSD storage or 8GB of DDR3 memory, and optional extras include LTE connectivity and a pen stylus. Lenovo says that the battery lasts for up to ten hours.
