It looks like Nokia could soon be the biggest supporter of Microsoft’s beleaguered Windows RT operating system. The firm is reportedly readying an 8-inch tablet based on the OS, and could debut it at the Mobile World Congress in Spain next year.

Citing an unnamed tipster, NokiaPowerUser reports that the much-rumored 8-inch Nokia tablet goes by the name of the Lumia 2020 and says that it will be presented by the firm at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in late February.

Sources add that the tablet will have a high-resolution 1080p display (with a higher pixel density than the already-released Lumia 2520), a Snapdragon 800 processor and that it will come with “stylus support”.

Nokia only released its first Windows RT tablet – the Lumia 2520 – last month and looks likely to continue develop hardware products despite selling its Devices and Services unit to Microsoft in a deal worth $7.2 billion. That deal, which is still pending government approval in the US and Europe, is expected to close before the end of March 2014.
