Microsoft's Surface Pro 2 now sports a faster 1.9GHz Intel processor

by TabTimes Staff

January 2 2014

Microsoft has quietly started shipping its Surface Pro 2 Windows tablet with a faster chip.

Instead of the 1.6GHz Intel i5-4200U processor that powered the Surface Pro 2 at launch just two months ago, Microsoft confirmed to The Verge that the Surface Pro 2 now ships with Intel's 1.9GHz i5-4300U processor which also features Trusted Execution Technology for enhanced software security.

A Microsoft spokesperson said the company "routinely makes small changes to internal components over the lifetime of a product."
