Lenovo's new ThinkPad 8 is a Windows 8.1 tablet with specs that make it a worthy competitor to Apple's iPad mini.

The ThinkPad 8 has an 8.3-inch display (1920x1080) and is powered by an Intel 2.3GHz quad-core Z3700 Bay Trail processor. Also included, 8GB of RAM, and storage options of 32, 64, and 128GB.

The tablet comes with an 8-megapixel rear-camera and two-megapixel front-facing camera.

The ThinkPad 8  will compete directly with the newest iPad mini on price ($399) when it goes on sale later this month.
