Even though it's become an established player in the tablet market, Microsoft is only just now releasing its first Surface tablet with mobile broadband connectivity.
Microsoft's LTE Surface 2, which goes on sales starting tomorrow, will be compatible with AT&T's 4G network in the US. Price is $679 with 64GB of built-in storage - about $130 more than the 64GB WiFi-only model.
That's the same premium you pay for a cellular iPad though the 64GB version of Apple's tablet is quite a bit more (for example, the 64GB iPad Air with cellular is $829).
The new LTE Surface 2 is set to go on sale starting Tuesday at Microsoft Stores, MicrosoftStore.com and Best Buy. Also, Microsoft continues to include extra goodies including 200GB of free OneDrive storage for two years and a year of unlimited Skype WiFi calling and landline calls.
