Investor’s Business Daily boldly predicts that Apple will stop being cool this year, reckons tablets will become a commodity and claims that Steve Ballmer will face the axe from Microsoft.
IBD says that the iPhone is “boxy, flat and feeling stale”, and claims that Apple’s software advantage with iOS will diminish because “Google’s Android platform [is] now the fastest-growing mobile OS”.
IBD, clearly no Apple fan, also believes that Samsung’s Galaxy line of smartphone “seems cooler” than the iPhone, with IDB's Brian Deagon even going as far as suggesting that Apple will be ‘eaten by a collective Android gang’.
The group believes that tablets and smartphones will become a commodity in 2012, and suggests that ultrabooks will be ‘huge’ in 2012. The firm also claims that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will be fired this year and reckons that BlackBerry ‘will go the way of Palm’.
