Just 48 hours after the launch of the iPad Air and analysts now claim that the name change is a sign Apple is gearing up to launch a tablet for business users.

Two leading market researchers said that the decision to swerve the iPad 5 moniker for iPad Air was a sure sign that a bigger, and more powerful, iPad could soon be on the horizon.

"The name change is likely intentional. Everything that Apple articulates it does for a reason," RW Bair analyst Will Power told USA Today. "Developing an iPad that is better designed for productivity is something that could very well make sense.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster concurs and thinks that any such ‘iPad Pro’ would be designed for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.

"This would seem to leave room for a 'Pro' model at some point if a market for a higher performance tablet exists," said Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray, in a note to investors after the iPad Air unveiling.

Not only does the new naming suggest that a business-friendly iPad could be in the works, but there are other signs too that it could be next on Apple’s tablet to-do list. Any follow-up models are sure to have the 64-bit A7 CPU as in the iPad Air, while there have been regular rumors over a 12-inch iPad and a new Touch Cover-style keyboard folio.
