If you are a developer or publisher with an iPad, Android, or Windows 8 tablet app, you now have an opportunity to win a Tabby Awards trophy and be the envy of your competition.

TabTimes in partnership with the Application Developers Alliance are announcing the opening of The Tabby Awards for consumer-focused tablet applications. Submissions are being accepted from now until April 15.

“App developers have created an extraordinary range of products tailored to parents, doctors, educators, gamers and everyday consumers," said Jon Potter, President of the Application Developers Alliance, “This awards program will rightly celebrate excellence and ingenuity in the field.” The ADA is the leading association of mobile developers. The TABBY AWARDS is the only competition for tablet apps.

This latest round follows the success last year of The Tabby Awards /Business, where an expert panel of judges picked 14 winners among the top business apps.

This time around, The TABBY AWARDS competition is open to consumer applications written for the iOS, Android, and Windows 8 operating systems. The competition covers 27 categories including Entertainment, Games, Health & Fitness, Lifestyle, Music, News, Shopping, Social, Sports, and Video.

A panel of  experienced app developers, designers and publishers, as well as tech bloggers and journalists are being assembled to judge the competition.

Once judging is complete, TabTimes will celebrate The Tabby Awards winners at a ceremony to be held later this year in San Francisco in conjunction with a new tablet conference.

Submissions for tablet apps are accepted now, until April 15. (Early bird submission rates apply until March 11.)
