Paul Amsellem, the general manager of Nokia in France, reveals the news to Parisian newspaper Les Echos.
"In June 2012, we will have a tablet that runs on Windows 8” Amsellem, when speaking to the newspaper.
When asked for an official comment, Nokia refused to add anything further, simply saying it does not have 'any specific plans' relating to tablets.
In recent weeks, there have been various rumours on Nokia’s possible move into the world of tablets, with CEO Stephen Elop far from denying the reports.
"From an ecosystem perspective, there are benefits and synergies that exist between Windows and Windows Phone", said Elop. "We see that opportunity. We'll certainly consider those opportunities going forward".
Back in February of this year, Nokia and Microsoft announced that it was forming a strategic partnership, in order to win back market share from Apple and Google in the mobile space.
