Lenovo announces 9.7-inch IdeaTab S2109 Android 4.0 tablet

by George Jones

April 9 2012

The company's newest tablet has the same size and resolution as the first two iPads.

Lenovo's newest tablet announcement, the IdeaTab S2109 comes with a 9.7-inch 1024x768 IPS display, which has many speculating that the company is picking up Apple's leftover inventory from the first two generations of iPads.

The IdeaTab S2109 will ship with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The tablet will have a 1.3 megapixel front camera, but will have no rear camera.

Lenovo released no official details on the processor type or speed, but rumors are indicating that it will use a TI OMAP CPU.

The device will have a micro HDMI port, micro USB port, and microSD card slot. Lenovo also says battery life will be in the 10 hour range.

There is no official word on pricing or release date.
