Though it didn't happen at Google I/O, Google may still be planning to soon release a new version of the Nexus 7 Android tablet (shown above).
Though it didn't happen at Google I/O, Google may still be planning to soon release a new version of the Nexus 7 Android tablet (shown above).

An official Google+ Hangouts promo video may accidentally include a preview look at the next Nexus 7 tablet.

Twitter member Cesi D'Alessio tweeted that the Nexus 7 in the video shows the LED flashing to give a notification, reports Ausdroid. The current Nexus 7 doesn't include a notification light.

Google was widely-rumored as planning to release a new Nexus 7 at this week's Google I/O conference but, unlike the past several years of the event, it didn't announce any new hardware.

According to earlier reports, Google plans to release a new Nexus 7 at the same $199 price of the current model, but powered by a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 1920×1200 screen HD display and wireless charging capability.
