AT&T now shaving $100 off new tablets on two-year contracts
U.S. carrier AT&T has gone back on its decision in August to bin subsidized pricing for tablets, and is now offer $100 off new iPads and other tablets so long as they are purchased with a two-year data plan.
The deal went live today (November 9) and applies to any model bought at an AT&T store, via the company’s website or through a selected retailer.
However, while this will see tablets fall like the 16GB WiFi new iPad fall to $399, customers will have to take out one of AT&T's data plans, which start at $10 a month.
AT&T says that the deal is valid for 'any tablet', so the offer will almost certainly entail Windows 8 tablets -- which AT&T are expected to offer in the near future.
Customers looking to buy Apple's iPad or an Android tablet can also expect the $100 discount.
