Next Issue, a joint venture formed of heavyweight publishers Condé Nast, Hearst, Meredith, News Corp and Time, has announced the launch of a new Android tablet newsstand.

The newsstand will offer unlimited access to the entire catalog of 32 digital magazines– including popular magazines like Elle, Esquire, Glamour, Sports Illustrated, The New Yorker, and TIME. Next Issue is hoping to add to the catalog later on in the year.

The group says that, via the unlimited access plans, customers are able to get unlimited access to many or all of the magazines in the newsstand. Packages start at $9.99 a month, and go up to $14.99 for readers who want access to all of the magazines in the catalog. Individual issues are also available.

"This is a game changer for customers," said Morgan Guenther, CEO of Next Issue Media. "We're bringing it all together. The most popular magazines, a great reading experience, interactive content and unlimited access to our entire catalog - with lots more to come."

Next Issue’s digital newsstand is available in the United States on tablets running Android version 3.0 (Honeycomb) or later. The group expects to submit an iPad version of the digital newsstand to the App Store Approval Process in the coming weeks.

To download the app, users simply need to go to www.nextissue.com to sign up and download the free application. The app can also be downloaded from the Android Market (now part of Google Play).
