Fancy the look of Google's Nexus 7 tablet? UK newspaper The Times is now offering the 32GB WiFi model for just £50 ($80) to readers signing up for a ‘Digital Pack’ subscription.

The new deal works out at £17.33 ($28) per month and the contract lasts for 18 months, meaning that subscribers will eventually be shelling out £361.94 ($583) in total. This figure is however reduced to £299 ($482) to those paying upfront; a reasonable figure considering the 32GB Nexus 7 costs £199 ($320) in the UK on its own.

The Times Digital Pack subscription ensures you get daily digital editions of the newspaper and also opens up access to The Times on your phone or via the web.

This news comes just a day after News Corp, which owns The Times, called time on its tablet-only magazine The Daily after failing to attract enough subscribers.
