The Event Check-in Standard Edition can be purchased either per event (£49) or through multi-event packages (which go up from £99 to £249 each month), with the app currently available for free on iTunes.
As with the original Event Check-In Pro app, this new standard version can be used to upload visitor lists, and check-in guests, while the check-in page can be customized with different colors and company branding. The difference with the older model is that it offer enhanced security, Bluetooth scanners and ‘intelligent’ OR codes.
“When we launched Event Check-in, we had the enterprise market in mind, and we've successfully picked up major corporates, brands and event organisers as customers”, said Mahesh Ramachandra, head of product for Event Check-in, when speaking to TabTimes.
“But the demand from all over the world for a low-cost, pure self-serve SaaS check-in solution has been overwhelming, so we've restructured our offering to flexibly cater to event organisers of all sizes. Event Check-in scales from a one-off VIP networking cocktail to a major event with thousands of guests and multiple check-in points.
"In general, we are seeing the BYOD movement really drive Event Check-in; tablets are changing the way that event organisers do business”.
ORM has already enjoyed some success with the original Event Check-In app, which as well as being used by UK broadcasters ITV and Channel 4 (which we knew about when we met up with the firm late last year), now seems to have been used by Apple itself, too.
