I am pleased to announce that tech expert Ray Aguilera has been named Technology Editor of TabTimes, a new position that will include responsibility for all of TabTimes’ reviews and how-to articles.
Ray was previously Reviews Editor at MacLife magazine, the second largest Apple-centric magazine in the world. In this position, he experienced first-hand how iOS and the iPad grew to dominate the Apple ecosystem in the last two years and change the mobile landscape.
As our new Technology Editor, based in San Francisco, Ray brings TabTimes’ readers his deep knowledge of what is, by far, the main platform for tablets both at home and in the enterprise. His sharp writing style and expertise will help keep our reviews and features a must-read for business and professional tablet users. Ray’s experience in consumer magazines will also be helpful in helping us shape the editorial content for our upcoming iPad magazine app.
Also, I am glad to announce that our News Editor, David Needle, has been promoted to Executive Editor. (Founding Editor George Jones is leaving TabTimes to take a position with Wikia. More on that shortly.)
Based in Silicon Valley, David had covered technology for over two decades in a variety of editorial roles including News Editor at Infoworld, Editor of Computer Currents and Bureau Chief for InformationWeek and InternetNews. David brings us an incomparable wealth of knowledge and contacts in the technology industry. In addition to News, he now oversees our Features section. Our International Editor based in London, Doug Drinkwater, and Ray Aguilera will report to him.
In parallel, our Managing editor and Business director, Steven Lang, will take charge of our Opinions/Analysis section. Steven is already well accustomed with this section, as he manages our growing roster of guest contributors from the industry. We will progressively complement these contributions with additional columnists.
Speaking of columns, George Jones is not leaving us completely: he will continue to write his popular and insightful This Week in Tablets column, which is published every Saturday morning.
With these changes, TabTimes will be even better equipped to cover the tablet industry and ecosystem, and to provide you with the best content on how to use the iPad and other tablets for business, work and productivity.
