The Renault R-Link tablet is a 7-inch Android slate and relies on TomTom technology to offer real-time services like maps, navigation and traffic information.

The tablet was announced as long ago as LeWeb 2011 but has since seen numerous updates, with TomTom having partnered with Orange and Atos to improve the apps available on the R-Link App store. When TabTimes last saw the app store, there were just a handful of useful application, including ones for basic email and social networking.

Both companies have confirmed that the tablet will feature inside no fewer than 15 of Renault’s latest cars, including the ZOE electric automobile, the Captur, the new Megane line-up, the Scenic X-mod, the New Scenic and Grand Scenic, the Fluence, the Laguna 2013 collection, the Latitude, and three Kangoo models (New Kangoo, Kangoo Express and Kangoo ZE).

In the electric cars, the ZOE and New Kangoo ZE, the R-lInk is able to display electric vehicle management information, such as the available range and the route to the nearest electric charging point.
