The new partnerships with Goodwill and Belkin will see Revel’s iPad POS system, which comprises a specialized app and the iPad itself (sold independently), be used across 23 Goodwill stores in Florida and at a Belkin retail store in Los Angeles’ Westfield Mall.

"Belkin reached out to Revel for a POS system for our first retail mall store this summer after a less than satisfactory experience with another vendor,” said Maureen Lewis, director of retail operations for Belkin, in a statement.

“The personalized service has been stellar and custom solutions really have made running the business effortless. The staff are happy with the ease of the system, and I love the fact that I can check transactions and sales anywhere on my iPad, laptop and (soon) phone."

While announcing this news, start-up Revel Systems also stated that it has updated the Retail POS solution with new features for retailers to set variable pricing by volume or weight, with the new Revel Retail Inventory Module also enabling retailers with an iPhones, iPod Touch or iPad mini to update, change and print labels for inventory in real-time.

The module even supports the ability for customizable alerts to be sent out to iOS devices when stock is running low, with these Apple devices in turn capable of actually ordering new products. An additional bonus is also in store for retailers using Honeywell hardware, with Revel now integrating with Honeywell’s Bluetooth barcode scanner for processing these orders.

Just last month, Revel Systems announced that it hit profitability in its first year in business and unveiled the new Revel Systems’ Marketplace for retailers to support certain apps. At launch, compatible apps came from Facebook and Twitter among others.
