ZAGG Folio review: An ideal keyboard-case combo

The exterior of the ZAGGfolio is covered in a textured pattern, giving it a grippy feel that we appreciate
A bluetooth keyboard, tablet stand and protective case all rolled into one.

While constructed entirely of plastic, the ZAGGfolio provides a reasonable amount of protection for your tablet when the case is closed as well as a firm, stable typing experience when opened.

The ZAGGfolio’s keyboard, while no longer than the iPad 2 itself, provides a cramped, but comfortable typing experience, with a respectable amount of key travel. While the keys themselves are smaller than we'd have liked, we had no trouble touch-typing after a few minutes of trial and error.

The keyboard includes a number of iPad-specific shortcut commands and directional keys that saved us from having to interact with our iPad's touchscreen while typing. It could be argued that the shortcut keys could have been sacrificed in the name of overall key size, but we feel that the functionality the shortcuts provide far outstrip the benefit of having larger keys, given that the ZAGGfolio’s typing experience is already more than adequate.

Our only real complaint about the ZAGGfolio is that the clasp used to keep it closed doesn't feel up to the task. In our testing, we found that the clasp came open a little too easily. In the field, this could result in the ZAGGfolio opening in your bag or briefcase, or worse, spilling your iPad 2 out onto the floor.

That said, this is one of the better folio cases available to iPad 2 users today and should not be overlooked.
