Samsung’s 12-inch Galaxy Note gets snapped before big release

November 4, 2013

As PhoneArena spotted recently, the tablet has quietly been filed under the name of the Samsung SM-P905 at the FCC.

Precious few details are available in the way of specs although the tablet’s diagram points to a stylus port for Samsung’s acclaimed S-Pen. A purported benchmark test from AnTuTu would seem to indicate that the tablet has an impressive 2560 x 1600 resolution display, the quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of storage and dual-facing cameras (8MP snapper on the rear, 2MP camera on the front).

Just after this news emerged Taiwanese tech website Digitimes reported that Samsung is gearing up to start producing these 12.2-inch tablets before the end of the year.

Citing local supply chain makers, the website said that the gigantic tablets adopt a film-based capacitive touch solution and added that Samsung’s early move in this area could force other vendors to follow suit in 2014.
