Samsung might beat Apple to the punch with big-screen Galaxy Note 12.2

But while a 13-inch iPad Maxi doesn't appear to be coming anytime soon, a 12.2-inch version of Samsung's Galaxy Note Android tablet looks farther along to being released.

Some reports say that Samsung's 12.2-inch tablet will sport a hi res 2560 x 1600 resolution.

The Taiwan site Digitimes claims sources in the supply chain say Samsung was initially working on a 12-inch Nexus tablet, but Google lost interest on building a bigger version and decided to focus on the Nexus 7 instead. So now Samsung plans to build the device under its own brand. But it's still not clear when it might come to market.
